Definition: loyalty punch card


A paper card that encourages customers to return to a retail store. The size of a credit card, a loyalty punch card has a series of boxes that are punched or stamped by the cashier at time of purchase. When all the boxes are filled, the customer is entitled to a free item. The loyalty card concept is also implemented in a smartphone application (see smartphone wallet). See also punch card.
