Chromebook Pixel

A premium Chromebook laptop computer from Google, introduced in February 2013 with features of the MacBook Air and high-end Ultrabooks. Built by Google's Motorola subsidiary, the Pixel features a high-res touchscreen and up to 64GB of solid state storage. Included are 1TB of free Google Drive cloud storage for three years and a free, two-year data plan with Verizon (LTE cellular model).

Unlike the first Chromebooks, which were priced as entry-level computers in the range of USD $199-250, the Pixel debuted at $1,299 for the Wi-Fi model and $1,449 for the LTE cellular model.

Introduced in 2017, the second-generation Pixel, dubbed the Pixelbook, is a convertible laptop with an SSD up to 512GB. The Pixelbook also fully supports Android apps, and Google Assistant is built in. See Chromebook and Pixel C.

The Pixel Keyboard
The backlit keyboard is specialized for the Chrome browser. For example, the top row contains common browser functions (Back, Forward, Reload, etc.), and the Caps Lock key was replaced with a Search key. (Image courtesy of Google Inc.)
