(Compuware Corporation, Detroit, MI) A leading provider of software and consulting services for building, testing and optimizing applications. Founded in 1973, Compuware served more than 90 percent of the world's Fortune 100 companies. In 2003, it released its flagship product, Compuware Application Reliability Solution (CARS). This quality assurance methodology was noted for its testing and tracing through every workflow step, as well as its unique feature of on-site teams of consultants sent from Compuware who helped to implement the QA follow-through. Other major products included the UNIFACE development system and Vantage product suite for distributed systems. In 2020, Compuware was acquired by BMC Software.
