NRZ

(Non-Return-to-Zero) A data modulation method in which the 0s and 1s are represented by different polarities, typically positive for 0 and negative for 1. See NRZI.



NRZI

(Non-Return-to-Zero Inverted) A magnetic recording and data modulation method in which the polarity of the bit is reversed when a 1 bit is encountered. All subsequent 0s following the 1 are recorded at the same polarity. See NRZ.
