Office Live

Earlier Web-based services for small businesses from Microsoft. Launched in 2006 and available in free and paid versions, Office Live Small Business provided a company with an Internet domain name, website hosting and ad creation. The paid versions offered tools for organizing contacts and managing projects. Office Live Small Business was superseded by Office 365.

Office Live Workspace
Launched in 2007, Office Live Workspace provided online storage and collaboration for Office desktop applications. It was superseded by SkyDrive (see OneDrive).


Microsoft's cloud storage service, which allows users to upload files and access them from Windows PCs, Macs and mobile devices. OneDrive functionality is built into newer versions of Microsoft applications as well as Windows, starting with Win 8.1. The OneDrive app can be added to previous Windows versions as well as Mac OS X and mobiles. Introduced in 2007 as Windows Live Folders, it was subsequently renamed Windows Live SkyDrive, then SkyDrive and finally OneDrive in 2014. See cloud storage.
