Photoshop Elements

A consumer version of the Photoshop image editing program from Adobe. Widely used, it provides all the editing functions most users require to touch up their photos and quite a few more. Although it lacks many of the features in Photoshop that a professional photographer might want, Elements is a sophisticated program that supports layers, which is essential for creating composite images. It even supports RAW file formats but with fewer editing features than Photoshop. See Photoshop, layers and RAW image format.
