Win Network Neighborhood

In Windows 95/98 and NT 4, Network Neighborhood showed remote resources. In subsequent versions of Windows, Network Neighborhood was renamed My Network Places and then Network. Network Neighborhood could be renamed by right clicking the icon and selecting Rename. See Win My Computer.

Network Neighborhood in Explorer
This Explorer view shows 11 computers in the WORKGROUP local network. The TAI computer is selected, and its shared resources appear in the right windowpane, namely the C: drive and HP printer.

Win My Computer

My Computer is the doorway to the resources in a Windows XP computer. In Vista, My Computer was renamed Computer and relocated down the hierarchy. Windows 7 once again relocated Computer, and Win8.1 and 10 renamed Computer to This PC.
