A CDE Definition
An electronic circuit that accepts a signal and filters out unwanted frequencies, allowing only a particular frequency or frequency range (band of frequencies) to reach the output side. See bandstop filter.
An electronic circuit that accepts a signal and attenuates (reduces) certain frequencies. For example, it may be used to eliminate hum in a line. See bandpass filter and notch filter.
