A CDE Definition
An electronics device that has been damaged or otherwise incapacitated. In other words, "as useful as a brick." A bricked device can be due to a hardware or software failure. See iBricking.
(Turning an iPhone into a brick) Disabling all iPhone functions when the phone's software discovers it has been switched to a carrier other than AT&T. In 2007, the iPhone was launched as an exclusive product for AT&T subscribers. See iPhone, iClone and brick.
