A CDE Definition
digital film
The digital counterpart of traditional photographic film. Most digital cameras use a flash memory card such as an SD Card, CompactFlash or Memory Stick. Earlier cameras recorded images on optical discs such as CD-Rs and CD-RWs, while Sony's first-generation Mavica cameras used floppy disks. See memory card and digital camera.
