flash array

(1) A group of flash memory-based solid state drives (SSDs) that are set up in a RAID configuration for increased speed. See RAID, flash appliance and flash memory.

(2) (FlashArray) A flash storage subsystem for large enterprises from Pure Storage, Inc., Mountain View, CA ( Using built-in software that provides a combination of compression, deduplication and other techniques, the FlashArray achieves high performance using low-cost multilevel cell (MLC) flash chips. Highly scalable, up to 100 terabytes of flash storage can be connected via Fibre Channel or 10 Gigabit Ethernet. See deduplication and flash appliance.

FlashArray Modules
Designed for high-performance datacenters, the two modules with orange logos are FlashArray controllers. The two units above the controllers are FlashArray drive modules with a total of 11 terabytes of storage.
