front-facing camera

A camera in a laptop, tablet, smartphone or desktop computer monitor that has the lens facing the user on the same side as the screen. Also called a "selfie camera" in a mobile device or a "Webcam" in a laptop, a front-facing camera is required to make video calls. Contrast with rear-facing camera. See Webcam, selfie and video calling.

Front and Rear
These tablet specs show five megapixels (MPs) for the rear camera but only two for the front. Camera photos might be printed; however, Webcams are typically used for Facetime and Skype, and 2 MP is more than adequate.
