A CDE Definition
A setting in an HDTV set that bypasses scaling a low-resolution video signal to the set's higher native resolution. Normal scaling may delay the video output by several frames causing the audio and video to be unsynchronized. For time-sensitive video games, the game mode in the TV can be selected, although the quality of the output will be slightly degraded.
