A major software update that has been added to the latest shipping version of the full product. If they are not, the service pack can be downloaded from the Web. See service pack.

service pack

A collection of software fixes and enhancements that is applied to an installed version of an operating system. Always a major update, service packs are typically downloaded from the Web as part of an automatic update service. See adaption kit upgrade and feature pack.
