mail enabled

An application that has certain built-in mail capabilities. For example, it can send a file created in the application to an email recipient. See messaging API.

messaging API

A programming interface that enables an application to send and receive messages and attached files over an email or text messaging system. Today's global email standard is SMTP, while earlier email systems were VIM, MAPI, CMC and MHS. The standard text messaging systems are SMS and MMS.
