A CDE Definition
An excessive amount of email messages being sent. Mail storms can occur naturally such as when everyone returns from a long holiday, or they can be created by viruses to purposely slow down a company's networks. See broadcast storm.
Excessive transmission of broadcast traffic in a network. Broadcast storms can be lessened by properly designing and balancing the number of nodes on each network segment. See mail storm, broadcast traffic and broadcast.
