A CDE Definition
(1) One disc at a time. Recorded CD-R discs are called one-offs because they are "burned" one at a time in an optical drive.
(2) Software that is written to solve a specific problem and run only one time is sometimes called a one-off.
(3) Any single product that is custom created for a customer one at a time. See me-tailing.
Products that are custom created by the user online. For example, using predefined templates, users can create their own business cards on a website. Physical products can also be designed online by the user, and the vendor might use 3D printers to create the item. See 3D printing.
