tractor feed

A tractor feed is a "pin feed" mechanism that moves continuous sheets of paper with perforated holes on both sides across the print head of a printer. Contrast with sheet feeder. See continuous forms.

Tractor Feed
This tractor feed pulls the paper through the printer from the bottom to the top. The pins on a sprocket grab the paper by pushing through the holes at both sides of the forms.

continuous forms

A roll of paper forms with perforations for separation into individual sheets after printing. See pin feed and burster.

Green and White Striped Forms
Popular for decades before printing was all graphics based on cut sheets of paper, countless reports were prepared on continuous forms like this in the datacenter. The alternating green and white lines made it easier to read wide rows of data.
