user data

Any data the user creates or owns. The term user data may be used to emphasize that the data were created and owned by the user. For example, when deleting an application, an uninstall program may ask if user data is also to be deleted. In this case, the user data would typically be custom settings made in the app and stored in a separate file. An uninstall program might delete settings data automatically without asking but would never delete content such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, image or video files created by or obtained by the user. See user and data.
