A CDE Definition
A specific edition or release of a software package. Sometimes the term "release" is used to indicate the new version has been deployed. The terms version and release are occasionally used in combination; for example: "Server Version 10, Release 3.5." See point release.
A software version that adds a minor change, typically to fix a single bug or set of related bugs. A point release adds a decimal "point" to the version number; for example, Version 12.6.1 is a point release for Version 12.6. See version.
