The screen of an early vector display terminal. The x-y monitor screen and vector graphics controller were housed in one unit. See vector display.
An early display terminal that drew lines (vectors) on the screen rather than pixels. Also called "stroke writers," vector displays were used in the early days of computer-aided design (CAD) but soon gave way entirely to raster displays. See raster display.
